The Bond County CEO program held a special meeting Wednesday morning in the new Greenville University Greenville Smart facility located on the Southeast corner of the Square.
The CEO program, mentored by Roger Sanders, consists of local High School students who among other things meet prior to regular classes to learn about business by hearing from and visiting local Businesses.
Wednesday morning the group, along with about 30 local business people, heard from the founder of RP Lumber Robert Plummer, Senior. Mister Plumber talked about the founding of RP and how it grew from one small store in Staunton to 68 Lumber yards in Illinois and Missouri. Plummer shared his secrets of running a successful business including hard work and taking care of customers and employees.
The Bond County CEO program is currently putting together its First Home and Outdoor and More Show that will be held at the American Farm Heritage Museum January 13th and 14th.
