County Board Accepts Retirement, Announces Vacancies

In their meeting Tuesday morning, the Bond County Board accepted the retirement of Sheriff Jeff Brown, effective January 31, 2018. Brown has served as Bond County Sheriff for 23 years. Brown said he would be making a recommendation for Chief Deputy Jim Leitschuh to fil the remainder of his term.

The board approved the resignation of Connie Stoecklin from the Bond County Housing Authority Board and announced the subsequent vacancy on that board.

An opening on the Bond County 911 Board was also announced, along with the recommendation of new Greenville Police Chief Johnny Runyon to fill that seat.

Approval was given to the Greenville Chamber of Commerce to use the courthouse lawn for the upcoming Coming Home for Christmas event and for upcoming car shows, scheduled for May 5 and September 8, 2018.
