Highland, Vandalia and Carlinville have reached the quarterfinals in the state football playoffs.
In Class 4A, the undefeated Highland Bulldogs will play at home Saturday at 5 p.m. against 10 and 1 Herscher. In the same class, Herrin plays at Rochester.
In Class 3A, Vandalia, 8 and 3, will be at home against unbeaten Anna-Jonesboro. Kickoff is a 2 p.m. Saturday.
Carlinville hosts Pleasant Plains in another 2 o’clock game. The Cavaliers are 10 and 1 for the season while Pleasant Plains is 8 and 3.
Two Metro East teams are still alive in the playoffs.
East St. Louis, 10 and 1, goes to Chicago Mt. Carmel, 8 and 3, for a 5 p.m. game Saturday in Class 7A, and Edwardsville will be at home for a 4 p.m. contest Saturday in Class 8A. The Tigers have an 8 and 3 record, and their opponent, Minooka, is 9 and 2.
In Class 1A, 10 and 1 Carrollton plays at undefeated Tuscola at 2 p.m. Saturday.
