Several Greenville Elementary 5th grade students and Greenville Jr. High 6th grade students performed in the first Illinois Music Educators Association District 6 Elementary Choir.
The event took place at Amelia Carriel Jr. High School in O’Fallon, IL, Saturday, November 4th.
Greenville students were joined by students from around 10 other schools. Local students spent time during school and several after school rehearsals to prepare for the event. On the day of the event the choir rehearsed together for around 3.5 hours. They learned how to sing in a large ensemble, learning new warm up songs that prepared their voices for a performance, and made new friends.
Students were nominated by their music teachers Mrs. Kim Lugge and Mr. Shawn Cox
Students also have the opportunity to be chosen for the ILMEA State Elementary Choir later this year at the ILMEA All-State Convention in Peoria.
