Margie C.K. Beer, age 93 of Carlyle, passed away at her home on Friday, November 10, 2017.
Mrs. Beer was born on December 24, 1923, in Ferron, Utah, a daughter of John A. and Grace M. (Huntsman) Cook. She married Joseph Kolovich on June 25, 1942, and he was killed in action in World War 2. Margie married Edward G. Beer on January 22, 1946, and he preceded her in death on January 28, 2010.
Mrs. Beer is survived by her 2 sons – Dennis Beer and special friend Monica Gregory and Gary Beer and wife Patsy, all of Carlyle; her daughter-in-law – Kimberly Beer of Defiance, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Margie was preceded in death by a son – Joseph Kolovich Beer; 3 sisters – Daphne Westover, Belva Stevens, and Una Cook; and 3 brothers – Maurice, Harold, and Boyd Cook.
Mrs. Beer moved from Ferron, Utah to Carlyle in 1946. She was a self-employed beautician and owned and operated Margie’s Beauty Salon for 31 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon). Margie was a member and past president of the Carlyle American Legion Auxiliary, a member and past president of the Bond and Clinton County Hairdressers Association, and served as vice-president of St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carlyle. Family and friends may visit at Zieren Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M.
