Storm Activity Sunday

These photos were taken along the Troy-O'Fallon Road Saturday afternoon.

The WGEL listening area experienced some active weather Sunday afternoon. The entire listening area, and beyond, was under a tornado watch from the National Weather Service for several hours and portions of Madison, Bond, Fayette, and all of Clinton County were under a severe thunderstorm warning for most of the 3 PM hour.

A WGEL listener shared photos of golf ball sized hail in Madison County and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department reported several areas of standing water, but that was the only report of any type of damage from authorities Bond and all surrounding counties.

Weather is expected to return to cooler temperatures this week thanks to the cold front that moved through Sunday, prompting the thunderstorm activity.
