Carla Jean Mollet, age 88 of Greenville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday evening, January 25, 2018 at her home.
Her Christian funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, at the Mt. Nebo Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Willie Huffine officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Nebo Primitive Baptist Church, Mt. Nebo Cemetery or donor’s choice.
Carla Jean Dodd Mollet was born April 23, 1929 at the hospital in Eldorado, Illinois. She was the daughter of T. Leo and Harris Monroe Ridenhower Dodd. She was the fourth of five siblings.
Carla married John Marshall Mollet on April 23, 1949 at her parent’s home in Eldorado by her father, Elder T. Leo Dodd. The Lord blessed their marriage of 68 1/2 years.
Carla Jean was an active member of the Mt. Nebo Primitive Baptist Church and the activities within the church. She often said her business and her hobby were her family. She loved her life on the farm and enjoyed helping and supporting the civic activities of Bond County. She was never idle – baking, gardening, knitting, reading, writing letters and playing bridge filled the rest of her time.
She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn (husband Dan) Burrow of Altamont, Illinois, Emily Mollet (Jackie McCormick) of Carol Stream, Illinois and Rachel (husband John) Haas of Prospect Heights, Illinois. Loving grandmother of John (wife Dawn) Burrow, Bethany (husband Sean) Ealy, Gretchen (husband Brad) Buhrke, Stephanie (husband Michael) Clark, David (wife Jayme) Haas, Nathan Haas, Great-Grandchildren: Lilly Burrow, Luke, Lydia Ealy, Marshall Buhrke, Cali, William Clark, Audrey, Vivian, Elise, and Belle Haas. Also surviving is a sister Martha Sue Grant, sister-in-law Liz Dodd and several nieces and nephews.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Thomas Dodd, James Dodd (wife Betty), sister Louise Rosenburg Gerken (husband Charles Rosenburg and John Gerken) and brother-in-law William Grant.
