The 1998 Greenville Comets baseball team, which finished third in the state, will be honored Friday night.
Team members and coaches have been invited to the Greenville-Hillsboro basketball game. The baseball team will be recognized between the junior varsity and varsity games.
The JV contest begins about 6 p.m.
The 1998 baseball Comets were 28 and 10 for the season, and won the Nashville Regional and Freeburg Sectional.
The state finals were in Springfield, where the Comets opened with a 2 to 0 win over Woodstock Marion, lost to Sullivan 7 to 2, then won the 3rd place game over Putnam County, 8 to 2.
