Janice Kay Smith

Janice Kay Smith, 68, of St. Peters, MO, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018, in Ballwin, MO. A visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home, Coffeen, IL. Father Daniel Willenborg, Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Coffeen, IL.

Mrs. Smith was born March 1, 1949, in St. Louis, MO, to Perry Joel & Mildred Genevieve (Sommer) Smith. She is a 1967 graduate of Rosary High School in Spanish Lake, MO then completed various college classes. Janice had worked for St. Louis Union Trust Company in St. Louis, MO (Now Boatman’s Bank); was a system analyst for Arch Mineral; and Hussman Refrigeration, in Maryland Heights, MO, as a supervisor. As a small child she spent part of her summers visiting her grandparents, Sam & Ruth Smith, in Vanburensburg, IL, where she loved the serenity of farm life. Janice loved camping with her children; loved flowers and had many in her yard & collected antiques, especially green glass. She was a gentle soul with a loving heart and was always giving to others.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her mother, Mildred Smith of St. Peters, MO; four children, Randall Rosson of Ballwin, MO; Jennifer (husband Mike) Graham of St. Charles, MO; Christina (husband Gustabo) Felix of O’Fallon, MO; and Brian Kennah of St. Charles, MO; five grandchildren, Hope Rosson, Sarah Rosson, Jacob Rosson, Kayley Felix and Armando Felix and one brother, Mark Kent Smith of Lambertville, MI. She was preceded by her father, Perry Joel Smith and one sister, Gena Ruth Smith.
