Lady Comets Win Two Monday

Playing 2 basketball games in 4 hours is a tough task for any team, but that‘s what the Greenville Lady Comets did Monday, and they won both.

Competing in the Effingham Tournament, the Lady Comets beat Vandalia 46 to 28, then defeated Pana 57 to 37.

Head Kolin Dothager was proud of the effort by his players.

The Pana game counted in the South Central Conference standings, so it had an extra importance for the team, according to Dothager.

In the Vandalia game, Megan Fritzsche scored 19 points and Rylee Pickett had 9. Megan Hallemann led the way in the Pana game with 19 points and Fritzsche added 13.

The Lady Comets are 16 and 5 for the season and 6 and 1 in the South Central Conference.

They have 2 more games in the Effingham Tournament, going up against Centralia Thursday night and facing Effingham Friday night.
