Lincoln Land Leathernecks Installation

Lincoln Land Leathernecks Detachment 1174 held their Installation of New Officers Dinner Saturday, January 6 at the Greenville VFW Hall.

Pictured above, Jim Blankenship of Mulberry Grove received the Marine of the Year Plaque and Medallion from Department Judge Advocate and Detachment Commandant Ron Burns, Sr., of Lebanon. Several Department Officers were in attendance as well as Greenville Mayor Alan Gaffner.

Members Richard Niepert and Henry Steiner, of Mulberry Grove, are presented Certificates for the Chapel of the Four Chaplains by Department Commandant Dale Munson (center) at the Installation of New Officers Dinner. Over 100 guests and members were in attendance, making it the third year in a row when the Detachment exceeded the century mark in attendees.
Jack Brock, United States Army Airborne, of Lebanon, receiving a Plaque from Department of IL Judge Advocate and the Lincoln Land Leathernecks Detachment 1174 Commandant Ron Burns, Sr. for his contributions to the Detachment fund raising activities over many years. The presentation took place at the Detachment Installation of New Officers Dinner on January 6th at the Greenville VFW Hall. Jack has put up with a lot of guff from his Marine Corps buddies and was rewarded with the Plaque and 3 Certificates of Merit for his tolerance and efforts on our behalf. Many Department Officers attended the Dinner, and over 100 guests and members were present.
Ron Burns, Sr. gratefully acknowledging the presenting of the Distinguished Citizens Gold Medal and the Distinguished Citizen Silver Medal (his 4th award) from Department of Illinois Commandant Dale Munson (seated). These are the highest and second highest Medals the Marine Corps League awards, and were duly earned by Ron. “Semper Fi” Marine!
