A fence project is underway at the Mulberry Grove High School baseball field.
Chad Nelson, athletic director and baseball coach, said the old fence has been there for many years and is deteriorated.
Nelson said the new fence has been placed closer to home plate. He said it’s more of a standard high school distance now. The St. Louis Cardinals helped with a grant and signs will be sold to area businesses as a fundraiser. Nelson said he hopes to do more work on the field, including new dugouts.

Now that the new fence is up, the old one will be taken down and the foul poles will be updated.
