Mulberry Grove Man Arrested For Alleged Murder

On Wednesday, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police Zone 7 Investigators, and the Fayette County State’s Attorney arrested David Leroy Bright, of Mulberry Grove, for the alleged murder of James Skinner.

Skinner was murdered on September 17, 2017 at his residence in rural Fayette County.

Bond was set for David Bright at $1 million and he is being held in the Fayette County Jail pending a setting for a trial date.

Fayette County Sheriff Chris Smith extended thanks to Illinois State Police Zone 7 Investigations personnel for the many long
hours they put into solving the case.

Smith also thanked the Bond County Sheriff’s and State’s Attorney’s offices for their assistance with the case.

Sheriff Smith said residents of Fayette County should feel safe knowing Bright has been taken into custody.
