New Hospice Director, BCHD Administrator Contract & Selke Center

In their regular meeting this week, the Bond County Board of Health met in executive session to conduct the annual performance review for Health Department Administrator Sean Eifert. Upon conclusion of the session, the board voted to extend Eifert’s initial one-year contract.

In his administrator’s report, Eifert announced that Kelly Derrick, RN, has been hired as the new Bond County Hospice Director.

Eifert also announced a public dedication and open house for the Selke Health Care Center of St. Luke’s Hospital, which will be located at the health department on South Fourth Street.

The event will be Saturday, February 3 with the open house from 10 a.m. to noon and the dedication starting about 10:15 a.m. Attendees can meet physicians in cardiology and nephrology, who will be providing services at the center.

The center is named for the late Dr. Kenneth Selke, who died in a swimming pool accident last August 11. Dr. Selke provided cardiology services in Greenville for about 25 years.
