Seeking Info On Robbery Suspect

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Alton, Wood River, East Alton, and Edwardsville Police Departments are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the suspect in a series of bank robberies in the Metro East.

The suspect in each of the robberies is of the same general build and description: a black male in his mid-20’s to mid-30’s with a small, thin build. 5’4” to 5’8” tall, 150 to 180 pounds, with goatee style facial hair. In one surveillance photo, the suspect is wearing his left arm in a sling.

The robberies took place at the US Bank in Alton on the afternoon of November 29, the Reliance Bank in Godfrey on the morning of December 20, Regions Bank in East Alton on the morning of December 22, US Bank in Wood River on the morning of January 2, and 1st Mid America Credit Union in Edwardsville on the morning of January 10.

If you have any information related to any of the robberies, you are asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers. Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward in the investigation. Their number is 1-866-371-8477.
