Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 24th as the Bond County Unit 2 Academic Foundation is set to host its third annual Light The Way Gala. The event will again be held at the Copper Dock Banquet Center near Pocahontas. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Dinner will be served from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A live auction by Langham Auctioneers will follow dinner and the evening will wrap up with live music by the Chapman Brothers Acoustic Duo. A silent auction and 50/50 drawing will also be held.
Tickets are $50 per person or $75 per couple. Tickets are available at Watson’s Health Mart Drug Store and the Bond County Community Unit #2 office on IL Rt. 140. Deadline to purchase tickets is Saturday, March 10. Tickets will not be available at the door.
Proceeds from the Light the Way Gala benefit classroom projects in all Bond County Unit 2 schools.
Sponsorships are now being sought for the event.
Those making a contribution of $500 or more will receive 8 dinner tickets, a table with your name prominently displayed at the gala, and a listing in the program booklet.
Individuals or businesses making a contribution of $1,000 or more will receive the benefits of a silver level sponsor, plus a listing as an event sponsor in a weekly ad in the Greenville Advocate (to be run through March 2018).
Those making a contribution of $1,500 or more will receive the benefits of a gold sponsor, plus being named as an event sponsor in all paid WGEL radio ads, a business name and logo prominently displayed at the gala, and foundation membership.
The deadline to have an individual or business name printed in the program book is February 24.
In addition to sponsorship donations, gala organizers are actively seeking contributions of items for the live and auctions.
