The Greenville Board of Adjustments held a special meeting Thursday evening to conduct a hearing on a request to place a permanent monument sign at the Bond County Health Department for the St. Luke’s/Selke Healthcare Center.
The board voted 3 to 1 to follow the recommendation of city staff and deny the request.
The Greenville City Council was to meet after the board of adjustments, but that was cancelled, even though there was a quorum of three members.
The council will consider the board of adjustment’s recommendation at its February 13 meeting.
In his notes to the board of adjustments, City Code Enforcement Officer Joe Craver stated the request does not meet the variance requirements of the city code.
In late January, the city issued a temporary sign permit for that location.
