BNB To Expand Educational Scholarships

Bradford National Bank, with locations in Greenville, Highland and Marine, has a strong tradition of investing right back into the communities they serve. These investments in community activities, as well as the dedication, knowledge, and enthusiasm of bank employees have allowed the bank to grow and expand its corporate footprint.

In 1999, Bradford National Bank began awarding $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in Greenville and Mulberry Grove. The program was expanded to include Highland and Marine/Troy in 2006. To date, the bank has awarded $62,000 in total scholarship dollars in their local area.

At its February meeting, the Bradford National Bank Board of Directors voted to expand the program and will now award two $1,000 scholarships annually in each of the four school districts in the bank’s market area.

Bradford National Bank chairman Frank Joy said, “By expanding our scholarships from four to eight, we hope to encourage and assist more high school students with their continued studies.” Joy added, “We are hopeful that these investments in higher education will result in more youth choosing to live, work and invest in our local area.”

Bradford National Bank provides a great deal of support and sponsorship to area schools, including academics, athletics, and the arts. Bank president and CEO Doug Stroud said, “We are pleased to be able to make this significant investment in our college-bound students. As a community bank, we are committed to growing the towns we serve and are committed to further invest in our schools and its students.”

The expanded scholarship program begins immediately. High school seniors in Greenville, Mulberry Grove, Highland, and Marine/Troy can download the scholarship instructions and application from www.BradfordBank.com. The scholarship deadline for Highland and Marine/Troy is April 20, 2018 while the deadline for Greenville and Mulberry Grove is April 27, 2018. Completed scholarship applications should be turned in to the schools’ guidance/scholarship office.

Founded in 1867, Bradford National Bank is the 10th oldest bank in Illinois, having just celebrated their 150th anniversary. For more information on the bank, visit www.BradfordBank.com.
