Charlene D. Johnson, age 45 of Highland, IL, died Friday, February 23, 2018, in Highland, IL as a result of injuries of an automobile accident.

She was born February 06, 1973, in Highland, IL, the daughter of John and Darnise (nee Kroner) Frey.

On February 06, 2015, she married Michael Thomas Johnson in Edwardsville, IL .

She was a member of Laborer Local 44 in Collinsville.

Charlene was born and grew up in Highland, IL. She was a 1991 graduate of Highland High School. She worked construction for Labor Local 44 in Collinsville. Charlene enjoyed doing volunteer work and spent time working with Shriners on projects and making animal balloons for children at Shriners Hospital. She also loved going camping and always had a smile on her face and would stop and talk with anyone.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 01, 2018, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

A Celebration of Charlene’s Life will begin at 6:30 PM on Thursday, March 01, 2018, at Highland Southern Baptist Church in Highland, IL.
