Cleda Marie Harwood, age 79 of Hillsboro, Illinois, formerly of North of Greenville, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Evelyn’s House, BJC Hospice, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Cleda Marie, the daughter of Edward Charles “E.C.” and Nellie (Goodson) Schaufelberger, was born July 16, 1938 at home on the family farm. She grew up in Greenville, attended the local schools and graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 1956. Cleda attended some classes at Greenville College. She worked as a secretary for Dixon Motors.
Cleda and William Eber Harwood I were united in marriage on December 20, 1958 at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage until his passing on November 28, 2005.
Surviving are their 2 children: Michael Harwood and Cynthia Lynn Harwood. They had a son, William Eber Harwood II who preceded them in death. She is also survived by a sister Ruth Barnett and husband Donald, sister-in-laws: Oleta Schaufelberger and Iris Schaufelberger.
Cleda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son William, and 3 brothers: Warren Schaufelberger, Dale Schaufelberger and Howard Schaufelberger and a sister Joyce Dierkes.
