Dean W. Rinderer

Dean W. Rinderer, age 88 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, IL.

He was born on Saturday, April 13, 1929, in Trenton, IL, the son of Wilbert and Laura (nee Nagel) Rinderer.

On Tuesday, May 09, 1950, he married Delores E. Rinderer nee Reinacher at E & R Church, Highland, IL, who survives.

He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL, EvUCC Consistory Board and Property Board ; Madison County Farm Bureau ; St. Louis Metro Polka Club ; Honorary Member of Helvetia Sharpshooters.

Dean grew up on farms north of Trenton, IL. He attended Sugar Creek Country School and Lee Country School. He worked at the Coal and Ice Plant in Highland, IL; drove a school bus for 6 years in Highland, IL; did a lot of custom baling and combining; was part owner of Rinderer Brothers Excavating with his brother Don, for 40 years; and was a grain farmer and raised hogs on his own farm. He enjoyed: farming; driving tractors, combines, bulldozing equipment, especially his lawn tractor with keeping his and family members’ yards well mowed. He enjoyed playing cards (Jass, Euchre, and Pinochle). He loved polka dancing; traveled to other states to attend polka festivals; went on many trips to Florida and also trips to Hawaii, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, London and Tangier, Africa and went on cruises to the Panama Canal and the Bahamas. He always enjoyed telling jokes and visiting with friends.

Brother – Keith L. Rinderer – Died at age 19 – 8/31/1965
Sister – Marilyn L. Menz – Died 3/21/2015.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, with Rev. Chrstopher W. Hill, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.

In Lieu of Flowers, Plants, Stones, etc, the family suggests memorials to the Evangelical United Church of Christ or Highland-Pierron Volunteer Fire Dept.
