The Greenville Fire Protection District, Mulberry Grove firefighters, Greenville City Police, Bond County Sheriff’s deputies, the Bond County Coroner, and the State Fire Marshall responded to a fatal fire in the 1500 block of Lilac Lane in Greenville Saturday night. The fire was reported at 11:12 PM. Bond County EMS was on standby as fire personnel battled the blaze in the single-wide mobile home.
Greenville Fire Chief Denny Wise told WGEL crews were on the scene for over five hours.
The resident, 35 year old Justin D. Fadden, was home and was killed in the fire. Fadden was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Tony Brooks at 12:15 AM Sunday morning. An autopsy will be performed.
Further information has not been made available and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
