Westbound Interstate 70 near Troy, Illinois was closed early Friday morning due to a two-car crash.
According to the preliminary report, a white passenger car with two occupants was traveling the wrong direction on Interstate 70 eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic near mile post 17. The white car collided head on with a black car with five occupants.
The driver of the white car was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The passenger in the white car and all five people in the black car were taken to area hospitals.
All westbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed for a while and were reopened about 5:30 Friday morning.
