Producer Shawn Cox told WGEL he has been looking forward to doing the show. He said “The Little Mermaid” has been on his list for several years, but it wasn’t available for purchase until now. He said there are a lot of great costumes in the production and noted that people of a certain age have many memories of the Disney movie coming out. Cox said the show has a great message.

There are about 35 students in the cast and others on the crew. Marc Anderson is the musical director and Megan McPeak is directing the orchestra.
It has been a tradition for the GHS musical to come up with surprises regarding the set. Cox believes the audience will enjoy this year’s production. He said the “under the sea” theme allows for non-traditional building. Many of the actors will move around on “heelies” (shoes with wheels built in) to make it look like their gliding through water.
