January Animal Control Statistics

Bond County Animal Control Officer Jim Hess has released his department’s activity report for January.

Hess responded to a total of 60 animal complaints last month; 29 from rural county areas, 30 from the City of Greenville, and one in Sorento.

A total of eight dogs were impounded. Five were released to owners, two went to the Bond county Humane Society, and one went to another no-kill shelter.

Twelve cats were impounded in January. Of that number, four went to the Bond County Humane Society, four were released to other no-kill shelters, and one was euthanized.

Hess reported two animal bites in January and responded to two wild animal complaints; one for a possum, the other for a skunk, both in the Greenville city limits.
