Joel Andrew Rodgers, age 59 of Greenville, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, Illinois.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Free Methodist Church in Greenville, IL. Memorials may be made to HSHS Hospice, c/o St. Elizabeth’s Hospital available at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville.
Joel Andrew, the son of William Alexander and Emily Mae (Carpenter) Rodgers, was born December 10, 1958 in Geneva, Illinois. Joel was raised in Wheaton, Illinois and attended Lincoln School. He lived independently for 9 years in Redford, VA before moving to Greenville in 2003 to live with his sister’s family.
Joel is survived by siblings: Martha Iler and husband Darrell of Greenville, Beth Ellen Rodgers of Greenville, Jim Rodgers and wife Barbara of Hillsborough, NC, Tim Rodgers of Phoenix, AZ, Becky Rodgers Lynch and husband Rick of Des Moines, Iowa. Loving uncle to: James Iler and wife Jessica, Emily Brooks and husband David, Sarah Iler, James Rodgers, Rusty Ross and Myra Woods. Great uncle to Felicity Brooks.
Preceded in death by a sister Cynthia Rodgers age 16 and Robert Rodgers age 11 in a tragic house fire.
