Kennedy Honored For Chamber Service

WGEL owner John Kennedy recently retired from the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Board after 20+ years of service.

John Kennedy, owner of WGEL Radio, recently concluded his tenure on the Greenville Chamber of Commerce board.

He served over two decades on the board in various roles. New Chamber President Randy Alderman said Kennedy was important to the growth of the organization.

He said John was instrumental in hiring the first Chamber Executive Director. John also served as president of the Chamber numerous times and has chaired the Chamber golf outing numerous times.

Randy said John is one of the reasons the Chamber has grown from a part time office to a full time organization.

The Kennedy family’s service to the Chamber of Commerce is continuing as John Kennedy’s son, Tom, is a new member of the board. He is WGEL’s general manager.
