The awards program for the 2017-18 Greenville Lady Comets basketball team was held Tuesday evening.
Receiving varsity awards were Ally Cantrill for most assists, Nancy Fritzsche for most rebounds and offensive player of the year, Shauntaya Green for teammate of the year, and Megan Hallemann for defensive player of the year.
In two seasons, Hallemann has the school record for blocked shots in a career with 240. She set a season mark this year with 149.
Rylee Pickett established a new three-point shooting record, by making 46 percent of her attempts. The team set new school records for fewest points allowed in a season, 985 for an average of 35.2 points per game, and most blocked shots in a season with 221.
Kalie Meadows ended her career with 91 blocked shots, fourth most in Lady Comets’ history.
The varsity GHS girls were 20 and 8 for the campaign and won the South Central Conference title for the second straight season.
Junior varsity awards went to Danielle Brand for most improved player and best teammate, Katie Hutchinson for most rebounds, Rylee Pickett for most assists and offensive player of the tear, and Natalie Iberg for defensive player of the year.
The JV team had a 14 and 2 record.
