Highland native Jake Odorizzi has joined the Minnesota Twins just in time for their first full-squad workout of spring training.
ESPN reports the Tampa Bay Rays traded the 27-year-old right-hander to the Twins this past Saturday.
Odorizzi logged four solid years as a starting pitcher for the Rays. He suffered from some back trouble last season, posting a 4.14 ERA in 28 starts. He finished strong, with a 3-1 record and a 1.03 ERA in five September starts.
