The good sports news continues for the Greenville Panthers.
Johari Dix has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Dix led the Panthers to a SLIAC regular season title by winning two games last week, extending the team’s current winning streak to five.
Dix, a junior guard, averaged 23.0 points, 8.0 assists, and 5.0 steals over the two games while shooting 70-percent from the field. He put up 32 points, on 11-of-12 shooting, in a win over Spalding; adding seven assists and five steals.
Dix followed with 14 points, in just 20 minutes, in a win over Webster; adding nine assists and five steals.
Greenville will play in the SLIAC tournament semifinals Thursday night at 8 PM at home against Westminster.
The men’s championship game is at 1 p.m. Saturday in H.J. Long Gymnasium on the GU campus.
