At the recent Mulberry Grove Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Brad Turner presented the financial report and said the district got two state aid payments in January. Fund balances are still strong and just last week they received the first categorical state aid payment of about $39,000.00 for transportation and $11,000.00 for special education.
The board approved the 2018-2019 school calendar and two intergovernmental agreements, the first with Regional Safe Schools for FOCUS and TriStar Academy for junior high students and the second with New Approach and Aspire Alternative Education Program for high school students. The agreements are for the 2018-2019 school year.
The board approved a short-term loan of $85,000.00 with First National Bank for the purchase of a second new air conditioning unit for the elementary school. The loan will be for a two-year term at 3% interest.
Following an executive session, the board posted openings for one non-certified position, a school nurse, and three certified positions for music, a dean of students, and a social worker.
