Personnel items were addressed by the Bond County Community Unit 2 Board of Education Tuesday night.
The board accepted the state’s Agriculture Three Circles Grant which will allow 40 days to be added to Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor Steve Zimmerman’s contract. The grant supports personal service costs of extended time outside the teacher’s regularly-scheduled teaching duties for the benefit of ag education.
The extra cost to the district will be $4,491.81.
Robin Elliott’s retirement as a special education aide at Pocahontas School was accepted, effective the end of this school year.
Keegan Nesch has resigned as assistant high school boys’ soccer coach, and Jack Marchio has resigned as a school bus driver.
Toni Wylde was hired as a bus driver for three and-one-half hours per day through this school year.
Rehired as spring sport coaches at the high school were Todd Hutchinson as head baseball coach, Mark Jurgena as assistant baseball coach, Alison Hall as boys track coach, Lori Williams as girls track coach and Carl Brannon as boys tennis coach.
Leaves of absence were granted to Greenville Elementary School Teachers Amy Alderman, Shannon Van Zant, Michelle May and Sorento Teacher Ashley Williams.
Approved as volunteer assistant high school track coaches were Nichole Kendall and Keith Hall.
