Loren P. Kessman

Loren P. Kessman, age 85 of Hamel, IL, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

He was born on Tuesday, June 21, 1932, in Hamel, IL, the son of Dietrich and Edythe (nee Best) Kessman.

On Sunday, October 13, 1963, he married Judith A. “Judy” Kessman (nee Brandt) who survives.

He was a member of Liberty Worship Center Church in Edwardsville, IL, and former Trustee for the Village of Hamel, IL.

God blessed Loren with an inventor’s mind. Born and raised in Hamel, IL, he graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He worked for his father at Kessman Tank Service in Hamel, and later owned and operated the business with his family. They also established Standard Oil Truck Plaza in Troy, IL, and K-line Truck Wash in Hamel. Loren later founded Vision Screen Printing in Hamel where he designed and sold screen printing equipment. He volunteered as a minister for the Madison County Correction for Christ Ministry and as a counselor and minister at the Community Hope Center in Cottage Hills, IL. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by:

Daughter – Patricia Ann Kessman – Infant Died 2/24/1967
Brother-In-Law – David D. Heidbrink – Died 11/03/2015.

Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Liberty Worship Center Church in Edwardsville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Liberty Worship Center Church in Edwardsville, IL, with Pastor Tim Broihier officiating.

Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL.
