Maternity Onto Motherhood (MOM) Program

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland is expanding their Women’s Health Services with the Maternity onto Motherhood (MOM) Program.

The Maternity onto Motherhood (MOM) program will help prepare expectant mothers for the arrival of their new baby. HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland partners with their sister hospital, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese, to provide expectant mothers with quality care for mom and baby, with access to prenatal testing and education in Highland.

The MOM program will offer the following services:

Prenatal Ultrasounds & Biophysical Profiles
Laboratory Testing
Glucose Tolerance Testing (one and three hour)
Fetal Non Stress Tests (NST)
Lactation Consulting by Board Certified Lactation Consultants

In addition, St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland will host a MOM for Moms Group the second Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Sullivan room. Different topics will be covered each month – Moms are encouraged to bring their little ones and enjoy education and fellowship.

“We are excited to be offering more services and support for local moms. As a mom myself, I know how important it is to have easy access to care. The MOM for Moms group will also provide a place for moms to have fun learning together and sharing tips and advice,” said Emily Korte, Community Outreach Facilitator.

The MOM for Moms Group will meet for the first time on March 14. The topic being covered is Birth of Your Choice. Those who attend will learn about the different birth options available with an introductory session on The Bradley Method.

Lastly, the MOM program will offer free education classes. Class dates and times for spring and fall 2018 sessions are as follows:

Know Your Newborn: March 29 & October 25, 7 – 9 p.m.

Breastfeeding: April 5 & November 1, 7 – 9 p.m.

Prepared Childbirth: March 20 & 27, October 16 & 23, 7 – 9 p.m.
