Robert Lee Stich Sr., age 75 of Mulberry Grove, Illinois passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at his home in Mulberry Grove.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery with military honors by the Mulberry Grove American Legion Post #1180. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorials may be made to the Bond County Shriners.
Robert Lee, the son of Clarence J. and Helen (Laux) Stich, was born April 3, 1942 at home on the family farm. He attended the local schools and graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 1960. He served our country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Robert then worked 41 years at the Granite City Steel Mill. He retired in 2004 and has enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Robert and Carol Jeanette Longwell were united in marriage on July 4, 1964 in Pocahontas, Illinois. They enjoyed 49 years together, she preceded him in death on February 8, 2014.
Surviving are his 3 children: Tamara Renee Stich of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, Robbie Stich and his wife Heather of Pocahontas, Illinois and Shannon Stich of Greenville. He was the loving grandfather of Ashlee, April, Connor, Landon, Chance and Blake.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol and his sister Carolyn Curtain.
