The annual Illinois statewide severe weather drill will occur Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Greenville will participate in the drill with the police department activating the sirens. They will blast a solid three minutes.
The Greenville Police Department also controls sirens for Pocahontas, Old Ripley, Donnellson and Smithboro so those will also sound for three minutes.
The drill is a method of testing the sirens and making sure people realize that spring is severe weather season.
Everyone is encouraged to participate by reviewing their severe weather plans.
In case of inclement weather, the backup day for the drill is Wednesday.
