Beatrice B. Halford, age 98 of Edwardsville, IL, died Saturday, April 07, 2018, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, MO.

She was born January 30, 1920, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Edward W. and Lena (nee Greifzu) Paul.

On October 25, 1952, she married Hoyt Cameron Halford at Edwardsville, IL. He passed away on Monday, October 10, 1988.

She was a member and Past President of Madison County Nursing Home and Shelter Care Auxiliary, Edwardsville, IL, Disabled American Veteran’s Auxiliary, Jack Graishen Chapter #90, Edwardsville, IL, Order of the Estern Star, Chapter #667, Edwardsville, IL, Past President & District V Director of Edwardsville Garden Club, Past Board Member of Edwardsville Senior Center, Director of Golden Voices, Edwardsville, IL, Silver Tones, Caseyville, IL, Entertainer at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, IL and Organizer for “Ole Smoothers”, Edwardsville, IL.

Beatrice attended Greenville College and Eastern Illinois State College. She was involved in many groups and organizations, which she enjoyed volunteering. She also worked as a talk show host at WRYT on the “Aunt Bea Show” for 9 years. She also loved music, playing for Gold Tones, Madison County Salon #53, Roxana School Voice Teacher, private school vocal and instrumental music teacher, private piano and voice instructor, and the Director of Shell Men’s Chorus.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Private graveside service and burial will be held at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL, with Rev. Christopher W. Hill, Senior Pastor of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, officiating.
