GHS Hosts Two Track Meets

Greenville High School hosted two big track meets this past week.

The freshman/sophomore South Central Conference meet was Thursday.

Greenville’s girls and boys teams finished fourth out of 10 teams.

For the girls, Alexis Feaster had an outstanding meet, winning four events. She was first in the long jump, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash.

Isaac Green won the long jump for the Comet boys.

Roxana won the girls meet and Gillespie was first for the boys.

Friday afternoon, the 34th annual Comet Relays were conducted.

Schools with girls and boys teams included Greenville, Mater Dei, Nashville, Hillsboro, Pana and Vandalia.

Nashville won both meets.

The Comet boys finished second and the Lady Comets were third.

Nathan Stearns and Tyler Bryant combined to win the boys discus. GHS also won the 400 varsity relay and the 800 relay.

Hunter Matthews had the best high jump, clearing 6 feet, 4 inches.

For the Greenville girls team, Alexis Feaster and Nia Ephron combined to win the long jump, and Madelyn Daiber and Madison Jett teamed up to place first in the shot put.
