Mulberry Grove Village Board Approves Sanitation Contract

The Mulberry Grove Village Board met Monday. During the village code enforcement report, board members heard foundation footings have been poured for the new Casey’s General Store just south of Rt. 40. Recent rains have slowed construction.

The board approved the proposed contract with the Sanitation District. The new contract is a continuation of the present contract with the village paying the sanitation district $1500.00 per month.

Board members discussed bids for mowing the cemetery. They are pricing a new mower for the village and will check again with the Vandalia Correctional Center about inmates mowing or trimming the cemetery. A special meeting may be scheduled.

The board approved the purchase of new tires for the village police car for $485.00 from South Central FS in Vandalia.
