Public donations are always needed including pastas, canned food, cereal, pasta salad, and tuna and hamburger helper. Cash donations are used to purchase food. Hygiene products are also accepted.
The pantry receives food commodities from the Central Illinois Food Bank and also works with Operation Food Search and the Midwest Food Bank.
Jones said the pantry operation is successful thanks to members of the community. Churches send volunteers each week and there are some community volunteers who help at the pantry every day.
