In state tennis competition, Comet Josh Brannon played Stephen Ferkol from Peoria Christian in his first match and lost 6-2, 6-1. He lost three deuce games in the first set which is an indication that the match was closer than the game scores indicated. He also lost two deuce games in the second set in a well-played match.
In his second round Josh faced Thomas Scaggs from Champaign Centennial and lost 6-0, 6-2, again playing well against a very good opponent.
