County Board On Auction Bids & Fiber Optics

The Bond County Board met in regular session this week and voted to approve a resolution and addendum increasing the minimum auction sale bid to $750 per tax delinquent property. That’s up from the previous minimum bid amount of $600.

The board also voted to enter into an intergovernmental agreement between Bond County, the Sheriff’s Department, the City of Greenville, the Bond County 911 Board, and Kaskaskia College. The agreement concerns a fiber optic installation project. Each of the five entities will pay $10,000 to cover the $50,000 construction cost. Monthly payments will then be made by each entity, totaling $271 for the Sheriff’s Department and City of Greenville. Kaskaskia College will pay $334.67 a month. For Bond County and the 911 Board, monthly payments will be $168.

The board voted unanimously to approve Lawrence Watts to a three-year term on the Smithboro Fire Protection District Board.
