DAR & Historical Society Celebrating Family Farms

The Benjamin Mills DAR Chapter and Bond County Historical Society are working together on a project to celebrate the family farm.

Coinciding with Illinois’ Bicentennial birthday celebration, the Pioneer Certificate will be awarded to anyone proving their lineage to a pioneer living in Illinois in 1818.

The applicant must research and provide proof of lineage to the organization. Proofs include such documents as land grants and deeds, civil court records, criminal court records, and other court records from that time period.

The award is open to residents of Bond County. Please leave proof materials at TNT or the Bond County Historical Society Museum.

For more information, call Cindy Tischhauser at 304-5519.

The deadline for entries is August 15.
