The Greenville Federal Correctional Institution was the site of its annual Fallen Officers Ceremony Tuesday afternoon.
The event is held as part of Correctional Workers Week.
Kim Lugge and first graders from the Greenville Elementary School presented the “Star Spangled Banner” to open the program.
After a prayer by Chaplain Peter Landers, Warden Tom Werlich gave a welcome and introduced guest speaker Johnny Runyon, Greenville police chief.
Runyon directed his comments to FCI workers, noting the impact they can have on the lives of inmates.

A 21-gun salute to the dead was presented by the FCI SORT team, and Mike and Katie Gouge played “Taps.”
