Alexis Feaster, a sophomore at Greenville High School, placed in the Illinois Class 2A state track meet in Charleston Saturday.
Feaster finished ninth among all Class 2A athletes in the long jump. After qualifying in Friday’s preliminaries, she advanced to the finals. Her distance in the finals was 17 feet, 1 inch.
Also in Class 2A, Kelly Pottorff of Triad was sixth in the shot put and Lydia Roller of Staunton, fifth in the two-mile run and sixth in the mile run.
Area girls in the Class 1A finals included Jaelyn Robertson of Cowden-Herrick, sixth in the 100 hurdles and seventh in the long jump; Emma Smith of Carlinville, third in the pole vault; Rachel Jackman of Altamont, eighth in the high jump; Hanna Wolff of Altamont, ninth in the shot put and 12th in the discus; Carly Etter of Mater Dei, 12th in the high jump, Madelyn Tepe of Okawville, sixth in the 800 meter run; and Kristina Hilmes of Wesclin, seventh in the 300 hurdles.
