Frank D. Peterson age 85 of North of Mulberry Grove, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at home with his wife and sons by his side.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home with Randy Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. For those who desire memorials in Frank’s memory may be made to the Mulberry Grove Church of Christ, or to Bond County Home Health and Hospice.
Frank Delano Peterson, the son of former Sheriff Woodrow Wilson Peterson and Violet Sandifer Peterson, was born on Christmas Day in 1932 in a farm house north of Greenville. Frank attended several one room schools and Greenville High School with the class of 1950. Frank joined Shell Pipe Line in 1953, living in Zionsville, IN for 10 years, Chicago, Michigan, Wood River, and Lima, Ohio for the last 10 years retiring in 1988. Frank and Lois moved back to the Peterson farm where Frank enjoyed the farm, woodworking, trap and skeet shooting, deer hunting and computers. Frank is a member of the Mulberry Grove Church of Christ.
Frank and Lois June Hueter were united in marriage on January 16, 1950 in Pocahontas, Arkansas and have enjoyed over 68 years together. Lois survives as do their two sons, William Frank (Cheryl) Peterson of Spring Hill, Florida, Michael Woodrow (Kim) Peterson, of north of Mulberry Grove, two sisters: Della (Don) Sautman of Greenville, and Rose (Jerry) Reichert of Blue Mound, Illinois. Frank is also survived by six grandchildren: Shelly Scott, Anna Gonzales, Mary Scott, Laura Peterson, Suzanne Zurn, Emily Peterson, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents: Woody and Violet Peterson, and his daughter Sharon Sue Scott in 2007.
