Lang To Retire From Board Of Health

In their regular monthly meeting for May, Bond County Board of Health member Dr. Sandy Lang announced her retirement from the board, effective June 30. Four board terms are set to expire June 30 and appointments will be made for those seats by the county board in June.

Board members heard a report from Environmental Health Director Chris Leidel, who provided an overview of his activities and discussed upcoming changes in the rules governing food inspections in Bond County. While restaurants and other entities serving food will continue to be inspected, they may receive a letter grade based on the number of violations, rather than a numerical score.

Health department administrator Sean Eifert presented the financial update, noting that there was a decrease in cash on hand of $30,824 for the month of April. Of this, mental health realized a loss of $18,777 for the month. The department is owed approximately $75,000 in grant payments for state fiscal year 2018, which ends June 30.
