At the rescheduled Mulberry Grove Village Board meeting Tuesday, the board devoted considerable time reviewing applications for a new village clerk. April 12 was Karen Tally’s last day as clerk. Vicky Koertge has been assisting in the village office since then. Several applications were received and board members selected three for interviews. An interview time was set for Thursday, May 10, starting at 7:00 p.m., with a board meeting to follow.
The village is supporting police officer trainee Bobby Stief. Stief attended the meeting and reported training expenses. The board approved $100.00 for training dues and $275.00 for uniforms. They also approved purchase of ammunition for training purposes.
Quad County Ready Mix in Breese recently purchased land at the corner of Maple Street and Rt. 40, the site of Croft’s Café and Convenience Store. Concrete is poured and erection of mixing equipment is progressing.
Board members approved the contract with HMG of Breese who is working on grants to fund the proposed water line replacement project. The village’s share of the preliminary planning cost is $3,750.00, 25% of the total cost.
