Olympic Band Display At DeMoulin Museum

The DeMoulin Museum is inviting the public to the unveiling of a new display on Saturday.

Museum Curator John Goldsmith said this is a project they have wanted to do since the museum opened. The band’s historian has provided artifacts and stories for the exhibit.

Goldsmith said visitors will see a band uniform and a color guard uniform, along with photos of the band performing at multiple historic events. There will also be a flip board with individual stories from band members.

Two members of the Atlanta Olympic Band, from Maryland and Indiana, will attend the ceremony along with the parents of a band member. Coming from Georgia, they served as band chaperones for three years.

A question and answer session will be held at 10:30 a.m. and the display will be unveiled at 11. A reception will follow.

The DeMoulin Museum is at 205 South Prairie Street in Greenville.
