The Greenville Tourism Committee took action last week on three funding requests.
The American Farm Heritage Museum asked for $5,000 for its Heritage Days event. The committee voted 5 to 0 to approve the $3,000 that is in the tourism budget.
The matter will be forwarded to the city council for final review.
Heritage Days are scheduled for July 27, 28 and 29 at the museum grounds in rural Greenville.
The tourism committee approved requests of $750 from the Bond County Antique Machinery Club and American Heritage Railroad. Both are included in the budget.
The machinery club will hold its annual Antique Machinery Expo August 3, 4 and 5 during the Bond County Fair.
The American Heritage Railroad train show is June 9 at the farm heritage museum site.
Tourism funds must be used for marketing to attract people to the events.
